Communications Assistant

For this role, you should be an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail. If you also have administrative and social media marketing experience, we’d like to meet you.




CONTRACT AVAILABLE TO START SEPT 2017

We are looking for a Communications Assistant to provide administrative support to our marketing team. Editing and writing client promotional materials will be an important part of your job. 

Ultimately, your goal will be to help ensure clear communication of our clients' message across all channels. You will be needed to help our team produce the best work for each client. A good knowledge of the following software for Mac is required:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • MailChimp
  • WordPress

Typical activities:

  • Draft and edit communications copy (e.g. enewsletters, blog articles, social media posts)
  • Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies
  • Collecting data and maintaining databases, creating reports
  • Communicating with senior team members and liaising effectively with clients
  • Providing admin support to the team throughout the execution of marketing campaigns

Skills required:

  • Solid editing and researching skills
  • Excellent communication abilities (oral and written)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Efficient organisational skills that support the rest of the team
  • The motivation to maintain and improve writing standards
  • The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
  • Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. InDesign)
  • Previous copywriting experience would be beneficial
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work with a team
  • The ability to support projects through from inception to production
  • Consistency regardless of project size
  • A determination to achieve and succeed

Contract details:

  • Location - Buzz Marketing office, Titirangi, Auckland
  • Hours and days are flexible for the right candidate
  • Extra work offered during busy times, own projects encouraged
  • Hourly rate to be discussed, dependent on skills and experience
